Back in pA

After our winter escape to sunny climes, we returned to Pittsburgh without having sold our house yet. However, our arrival coincided with the start of spring football at Penn State, which we were eager to attend. It was the perfect opportunity to reconnect with good friends and have some fun.

Some people might think we're crazy, but we prefer to call it dedication. We arrived at the parking lot entrance bright and early at 6:30 am, even though the lot didn't open until 8 am. While waiting, we enjoyed a pre-tailgate of coffee and donuts on the tailgate of one of our friend's pickup trucks. It was a beautiful morning, with the sunrise casting a golden glow over Mt Nittany. We caught up with old friends and shared stories over steaming cups of coffee and sugary treats.

When the lot finally opened, we parked our cars next to each other and started setting up our tailgate spot. Our little city included canopies, grills, tables, chairs, games, and more, and we had enough food to feed an army. And of course, we had plenty of drinks, from beer to liquor. This year, we even had some creative concoctions like boozy bunnies (hollow chocolate bunnies filled with cream bourbon) and pickle juice & vodka.

Despite the rain that persisted throughout the day, we kept our spirits high and made the most of our time. We huddled under our canopies and shared laughs and memories, trying to stay dry. Towards the end of the day, the sun did made a brief appearance.

As much as we're looking forward to hitting the road and having some more fun, come fall, you'll find us back in central PA, rooting for the Nittany Lions. We hope to sell our house this summer, but until then, we'll keep coming back to Penn State for some good old-fashioned tailgating and football.
