Jennings KOA

If you need a quick overnight stop going to and from Florida, Jennings KOA is a great choice. Just south of the Georgia state line, the campground is conveniently located off of I-75 at exit 467. While we did stay for 18 days, most campers we encountered were making an overnight stop.

The campground has 50 pull-thru sites and 2 deluxe cabins on the west side of a small lake. There is an additional 50 monthly sites and 4 tent sites at the north end.

Campground Map

While not overly large, the campground does have a few amenities. There is a small pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas, a rec room, a playground, volleyball, horseshoes, and a group campfire pit. For those of you with four footed furry kids, there is a small fenced dog park and plenty of grassy areas for walking your dog. Fishing is also allowed in the lake, catch and release only. The camp office has a very small store with a few of the basic necessities and snacks and ice cream. You can also get hot pizza and wings delivered to your site from the store, must be ordered before 5:15pm.

Nice pond with lots of turtles and bass.

Community fire pit

Dog park

We did enjoy the pool one hot afternoon and it was very refreshing. They say the pool is heated, but it didn’t feel that way to us. A couple of evenings we tried our hand at fishing and caught a few small bass. We saw lots of turtles and ducks around the lake.

The sites themselves are fairly close together and all are pull-thru. Each has full hookup with a cement patio and picnic table. There are no fire rings at the sites. The campground does have cable TV and wifi. We did not use the cable, but did use the wifi a few times. It had decent speed. We have Starlink and AT&T and that is what we use most often.

Typical RV spacing, pretty tight.

Jennings isn’t near any cities or large towns. Wild Adventure theme park is about the only thing in the area and it is closed during the winter. Any large city is an hour and a half or more away. If you’re looking for touristy things this probably isn’t your spot for an extended stay. However, if you like the outdoors and want to hike, bike, or kayak on the river it might be perfect for a short stay. We covered a total of 64 miles hiking, 24 miles biking, and 20 miles kayaking.

Kayaking on the Suwannee River

The pros of this campground is easy access to I-75, pull thru sites, picturesque lake, nice amenities, and clean. The cons are the sites are close together, noise from the nearby interstate, not much shade, and not much to do in the area especially in winter. Overall we’d give this campground a 3 out of 5 stars.
