Moving Day Fun
Let’s face it, moving the RV to a new location can cause a little anxiety. So many little things can happen. After all, you need to pack & secure your entire house, drive it a few hours to a new location, and then set up and unpack everything.
Today was one of those “fun” days. When we went to put the bike rack on the back of the Jeep, Steve had trouble getting the key into the bike rack lock and then once in, the key wouldn’t turn. To make it more challenging, then he couldn’t pull the key back out. No big deal, that’s what liquid wrench is for. A few quick sprays and the key came out. So a few more sprays directly into the lock, and the key slipped right in, only to snap off when Steve tried to turn it.
Um, ok, now what? Guess we need to put the bikes & rack in the back of the Jeep. Of course, this requires us first to organize and clean the back of the Jeep so they will fit.
Steve removes the front tires of each bike, folds the bike rack, and somehow, we get it all into the Jeep.
As moving day issues go, this one wasn’t too bad. Some of our past fun has included a slide that wouldn’t retract in, leveling jacks that wouldn’t retract, tire pressure warnings while driving, finding a cat in the engine compartment while packing, a loose panel flapping as we drove, the engine compartment cover pooping open while driving, and our all-time favorite, getting stuck in the sand upon arriving at the Harvest Host site.
Living full-time in an RV is an adventure. You need to go with the flow and be your own handy man.
